Arsenal legend Lee Dixon is not joining those clamouring for a change in management at the north London giants

Former Arsenal star Lee Dixon does not believe the club will not qualify for the Champions League this year.

But falling a tricky start to the season, Dixon does not agree with calls for Arsene Wenger's head and backs the current regime's transfer policy, despite it being the principal reason for the club's fall down the league table.

"Confidence is low," said Dixon.

"There's no doubt that Arsenal's standard has dropped, but is it time for Arsene Wenger to go? No, I don't think that's true.

"He's built a legacy there and he's got to be given time."

The Gunners are out to [75.0] to win the league this year and [5.3] to finish in the top four but Dixon does not think that is likely, branding their chances 'doubtful'. However, he does not think relaxing the purse strings is the right move at this time.

"I do believe in trying to keep a cap on wages. But with the buying power of other teams you are going to fall behind."

Dixon has good news for another London team, suggesting Chelsea still have a hand to play in the title race. Watch the full video here.

We also asked Lee for his views on the current England set-up and while he believes Daniel Sturridge to be an omission, he's glad to see a blend of youth and experience in the team.
