Invictus winning at Ascot.
"Invictus has a problem and at this stage there has to be a doubt as to whether he would run..."
Invictus has emerged as a doubtful runner in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham...
Trained by Alan King, the six-year-old was last seen when beating Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti in the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot last month, and had been trading at around [7.0] for the RSA.
However, he has drifted out to [21.0] for the race after King said that he has suffered "a problem".
The Barbury Castle handler told www.alankingracing.co.uk: "We will monitor the situation over the next 24 hours.
"Though I have confirmed the entry for the RSA Chase, Invictus has a problem and at this stage there has to be a doubt as to whether he would run.
"We will keep everybody informed".
Grands Crus currently trades as the [3.5] favourite for the RSA, with Bobs Worth ([5.0]) and Sir Des Champs ([6.2]) next best in the market.
Grumeti, stablemate of Invictus, has been declared as "back on track" for the Triumph Hurdle.
Currently trading at [7.0] for the Triumph Hurdle, Grumeti gave connections cause for concern when spreading a plate on Monday.
But King reported: "It's good news - Grumeti was perfectly sound after cantering, so we are back on track.
"Normal service has been resumed and it's all systems go for the Triumph."
