Will Striker Torres pull off another all-weather win?
"Striker Torres has a favourable inside draw in this which should help him get to the head of affairs. The application of cheekpieces instead of the usual visor will hopefully see him settle much better than in his last outing."
Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Bangor and Wolverhampton.
In the opening 14:20 Novice Hurdle at Bangor, Bellaboosh has drifted alarmingly in the betting out to [4.2] from [2.86].
Nicky Henderson's well-bred 5yo mare may well be talented but looks to be in need of some experience before fulfilling her potential. She disappointed in her second bumper at Taunton last month and this is her first attempt over hurdles, her main market rival is a polished winner of two recent races.
Moving across to Wolverhampton and in the 16:30 6f Handicap Far View has been backed dramatically in to [2.62] from an earlier [3.6]. This 4yo now resides in George Baker's yard and seems revitalised under his new handler. The gelding did particularly well to win from the front last time at Lingfield from an awkward wide draw and looks capable of defying a penalty today. The inside stall here should be much more to his liking and assuming he can race prominently again he could have too much for his moderate rivals. 7lb claiming rider David Kenny lightens the load significantly and has managed a couple of All-Weather winners in the last fortnight.
We stay at Wolverhampton for the final selection, where in the 17:30 7f Handicap Striker Torres has been well supported into [6.2] from [8.27]. Geoffrey Oldroyd's 5yo is another front-running sort who posted a useful 2nd over course and distance at the end of January. The gelding has a favourable inside draw in this which should help him get to the head of affairs. The application of cheekpieces instead of the usual visor will hopefully see him settle much better than in his last outing when far too much energy was wasted in the early stages.
