Two of today's bets go on the Knavesmire
"With the money coming for Gatepost again today he looks to have every chance of making it two wins from two starts."
Today's Follow The Money come from the meetings at York and Fontwell.
We start at York where Rain Delayed has been steadily backed from [17.5] in to [13.0] to win the 15:00. Michael Dods runner didn't enjoy his time in Dubai earlier this year, but his return to Blighty has brought about a swift improvement in form. Both starts have seen him flying home fast for second place, so today's step up to six furlongs looks as though it will suit. Being a Group 2 it is a step up in grade as well as distance, but there looks no reason why he won't be in the finish at decent odds today.
We stay at York for the 16:10 where Mick Channon's runner Gatepost has seen good support, coming in from [4.9] in to [4.0]. He was well backed on his debut and justified that support by winning impressively. Although it wasn't the strongest of races, he won in a style which suggested there is improvement to come considering he ran greenly and was eased coming to the line. With the money coming for him again today he looks to have every chance of making it two wins from two starts.
Finally we head to Fontwell where, in the 16:20, Straw Bear has been on the drift, moving from [2.92] out to [3.65]. A top-class hurdler in his younger years, any return to his best form would make him too good for today's opponents. He has never looked a natural chaser however, and given his last victory was way back in 2007, there are surely better horses in which to have an investment at such short odds.
