Seville (left) sets the standard on his Racing Post Trophy run

"Seville sets a very good standard on what he achieved last year, and with the Aidan O'Brien team in terrific form, he looks the one to be with on this occasion."

Timeform run the rule over what will surely be a hugely informative Derby trial...

Ashva is a useful-looking colt who got off the mark on his third start in a one-mile maiden at Southwell in March. The fact he only finished third in a handicap next time highlights the task he faces here.

Carlton House could be anything following a most taking display in a soft-ground maiden over a mile at Newbury in October. He will stay at least this fair and is behind only World Domination in the Derby betting.

Pisco Sour showed marked improvement on his first four starts last year, winning at Southwell and Windsor prior to an excellent second in a valuable sales races. He found a French Group 1 all too much on his final two-year-old start.

Seville was fast-tracked to the highest level and found only one too good in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October. That is easily the best form on offer, and he'll be suited by the still longer trip.

World Domination is a useful-looking colt who boasts an excellent pedigree, and he duly justified the pre-race hype when a most impressive winner over 11 furlongs at Newbury last month. He looks a pattern performer in the making.

Yaseer readily landed the odds on his second juvenile start over a mile on the all-weather in December. He ran an excellent race when third in the Craven Stakes on his reappearance but it's hard to think he's quite up to this.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Seville
2. World Domination
3. Carlton House

Timeform View: A most intriguing Derby trial, featuring the current first and second favourite for Epsom in the unbeaten World Domination and Carlton House. Either could be anything, but Seville sets a very good standard on what he achieved last year, and with the Aidan O'Brien team in terrific form, he looks the one to be with on this occasion.

Will the winner of the Musidora shake up the betting for the Oaks at Epsom next month?...
