Manchester United are [1.3] favourites to qualify from their Champions League last 16 tie with Marseille after the teams played out a 0-0 first leg in France.

The game was notable only for its lack of incidents and the draw was matched at [3.65]. The away team came the closest to scoring in the first half when Darren Fletcher kept his shot down from the edge of the box only to see it saved by Steve Mandanda.

At half-time, United would have fancied their chances of opening up the game in the second half but, if anything Marseille, grew more confident as the contest went on. They failed to create any decent chances though, and the main plus point for Sir Alex Ferguson will have been the way Chris Smalling filled in for Rio Ferdinand so ably.

Wendesday night looked set to end goalless with Inter Milan and Bayern Munich engaged in a frustrating affair at the San Siro. There were plenty of chances but it wasn't until the 90th minute that Mario Gomez pounced on an error by Inter keepr Julio Cesar to win the game for Bayern.

Inter, the defending champions, are now 4.8 to qualify with Bayern [1.21].

Nicolas Anelka scored twice as Chelsea won 2-0 whilst Real secured a good draw away at Lyon....
