Today's best bet is over jumps at Carlisle
"Beau Fighter's previous efforts over hurdles, when chasing home the likes of Notus de La Tour, Salden Licht and Sarando at Plumpton, look very strong.."
Three selections from the Timeform Free Form Website to kick off June.
It's a long way from Lower Beeding in Sussex to Cartmel, and with just £2,600 up for grabs in the opening novice hurdle, that suggests Gary Moore's Beau Fighter (14.20) will be hard to beat. The six-year-old has been cleaning up on the all-weather at Southwell in recent months and his previous efforts over hurdles, when chasing home the likes of Notus de La Tour, Salden Licht and Sarando at Plumpton, look very strong. Getting weight from previous hurdles winners Hunters Belt and Mut'ab, the latter of whom was successful for Gary Moore, Beau Fighter should be up to opening his jumps account and any odds-against available looks a steal.
Wait No More (14.30) has made a bright start over fences and could be up to winning more races for Neil Mulholland, perhaps starting with the opener at Fontwell this afternoon. He dotted up on his handicap chase debut at Plumpton over this trip for Sarah Humphrey and put up a good effort there next time off 12 lb higher to chase home one who'd dropped to a career-low mark. Wait No More's new yard was back among the winners at Uttoxeter on Sunday and with just six runs under Rules to his name, everything points to Wait No More having the potential to do better still.
Sir Francis Drake (20.40) is fancied to bowl his rivals over in the penultimate contest at Ripon. Mahmood Al Zarooni's charge made a bright start when chasing home the potentially useful Trojan Nights in a similar event at the track on his debut last month, getting the hang of things as the race wore on. Sir Francis Drake will have learned plenty from that experience and should go one better with the slight step up in trip expected to suit.
