Andrew Sheret serves up a pair of promising Tuesday evening bets, including one returning to the track after a lay-off and another looking to end a losing run...

Goat Castle (19:35 Newton Abbot) had some solid handicap form to his name when last seen in the autumn, chasing home the pretty useful Crystal Rock on one occasion, and looks to represent a bit of value against likely market leader Dunowen Point. This seven-year-old has been off the track over seven months but has gone well fresh before and lack of fitness isn't usually an issue with this yard.

Equuleus Pictor (20:50 Newbury) hasn't won for a while but has run well enough of late to suggest he'll be ending his losing sequence before long, not enjoying any luck in running at Leicester last time. This is a lower-class race than John Spearing's gelding usually contests and he's sure to go close if reacting well to first-time cheekpieces.

Recommended Bets
Back Goat Castle @ [3.8] in the 19:35 @ Newton Abbot
Back Equuleus Pictor @ [4.0] in the 20:50 @ Newbury
