Silver Linnet landed a gamble at Kempton last week, but has a poor record here, and is drawn in stall 13, making a follow-up unlikely. Good Timin' can reverse Kempton form, while Cri na Mara will benefit from Kieren Fallon taking over from Luke McNiff. But the most interesting runner is Divertimenti, who has been dropped for three poor runs at Southwell last month. Row Bowring's charge simply hates fibresand, and a reproduction of his fifth place in a much better race over C&D in November would give him leading claims. He won off a 9 lb higher mark as recently as September, and while he's inconsistent, the assessor's reaction to recent defeats has been premature.
This 6f seller is wide open, with even rank outsider Mother Jones making some appeal, being the least exposed and starting off for an underrated trainer from the inside draw. The pick for me though is Imprimis Tagula, apparently running his way back to fitness in two starts this year, and well weighted on the pick of his 2011 AW form. He's only won once here, but five runners-up medals show that he acts plenty well enough at the track, and he's almost certain to trade much shorter in running.
Stars In Your Eyes is not improving with racing, while Madrilene is making a belated racecourse bow. Mark Johnston's last 3 debutant 4-y-o's have won which makes her the pick, for all a debut over 12f is a worry. Mister Fizz is surely flattered by his C&D third last time, and Akarshan is no world beater over jumps. Don't rule out Toby Coles' newcomer Icy Quiet at big odds.
Roedean makes her debut for William Stone, having racked up a 4-timer in plating company, and is respected. I'm not convinced that Availed Speaker's C&D win last time represented the step forward it looked, and he's opposable on previous efforts, as is Anginola, who was fourth there. Island Melody lacks tactical speed, so the vote goes to Enery, who has his first start for Mark Johnston and retains plenty of scope for progress.

Terry Norman, whose blog: is worth a read, has booked Kieren Fallon for Mark Brisbourne's Berlusca, and the ex-William Jarvis inmate looks solid here. Luctor Emergo is out of the weights, but did well to pull clear with the quirky Gabrial's King here last week, and is progressing along the right lines. Samedi has a bit to prove on the clock.
17:40 - Cyflymder and Gala Spirit stand out here, with preference for the latter, given that punters have yet to cotton on to Peter Niven's excellent record in such races.
