Gamilati has been put on the easy list
Godolphin's Gamilati has undergone surgery to remove a chip from her near-fore ankle and may now be forced to miss the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 6....
Last year's Cherry Hinton Stakes winner Gamilati, is unbeaten in two starts at Meydan this year and has raised her Timeform rating to a lofty 120, putting her at the head of the list for the 1000 Guineas.
However, the Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained filly will need time to recuperate and may therefore miss her intended run in the classic at HQ.
Simon Crisford, Godolphin racing manager, explained on the Godolphin website "Gamilati had a very good winter in Dubai, winning the UAE 1,000 Guineas impressively, but unfortunately she has required surgery to remove a chip from her near-fore ankle.
"She will have a little bit of time out of training and when she starts back in a few weeks we will reassess what her programme will be for the summer."
