Exeter is the venue for Tuesday's Placepot
"Josh's Dreamway has to be respected on her handicap debut, as while she hasn't achieved much over hurdles so far, she has shaped better than the results, showed ability in bumpers and has been given what looks a relatively fair mark."
Timeform's Joe Szekeres heads to Exeter this afternoon for his placepot permutation...
14:30 - Florafern heads the Timeform ratings for the opening contest on the Exeter card and definitely looks the one to beat, having achieved a level of form in advance of all of her rivals. However, she doesn't strike as the most consistent type, so we're also going to include Sapphire Rouge, who brings an element of dependability to the table.
15:00 - Josh's Dreamway has to be respected on her handicap debut, as while she hasn't achieved much over hurdles so far, she has shaped better than the results, showed ability in bumpers and has been given what looks a relatively fair mark. It looks as though handicaps have always been the plan with her and she's expected to improveme this afternoon.
15:30 - Question marks over a lot of the runners in the third, but we can rely on Mortimers Cross as our main selection after his impressive win at Fontwell last time. Mortimers Cross jumped with great aplomb and responded well to pressure in the closing stages on that occasion, two attributes that should hold him in good stead here. He isn't quite the banker people may be expecting, however, and we also take Flying Award, who looks open to progress after just two starts over fences.
16:00 - Bounds And Leaps is currently a Timeform Horse in Focus having caught the eye in recent starts. He won on his chase debut before falling last time, when well fancied to win at Ascot, and he should be capable of going very close this afternoon. Gotoyourplay looks a worthy insurance selection, should Bound And Leaps fail to fire, the Andy Turnell-trained gelding open to progress after just three starts over fences.
16:30 - Likeable Rogue looks the type to improve for well-respected connections after a promising debut and is the second banker of the afternoon. Paul Nicholls' six-year-old lasted longest on the bridle before being narrowly touched off first time up, and that performance should prove a solid foundation on which he can build.
17:00 - Only Hope is an obvious inclusion in the final race given that he currently tops the Timeform ratings and has proved himself a consistent individual throughout the winter. We're also going to include Roxanne Bruere to be on the safe side, that one having run to the same figure on all three of her latest outings over timber.
