Three bets, two races, at Exeter (above)

David Cleary heads to Devon as he selects three runners from two Tuesday afternoon races...
Exeter provides the pick of this afternoon's action, with some pretty fair racing for the Tuesday before Cheltenham.
The feature is the Devon National at 15:30 which sees several regulars in marathon events at the track line up, including last year's winner Ammunition and third Drybrook Bedouin. They're sure to be popular but the value may lie elsewhere, with Mortimers Cross and How's My Friend the pair to focus on. Mortimers Cross is in the form of his life and looks sure to be suited by this step up in trip; he'll make a bold bid from the front. How's My Friend is likely to be much more patiently ridden. He has yet to win a race but has promised better on quite a few occasions this season and seems likely to show his true colours now he steps up to a marathon distance - his pedigree is chock full of stamina.
Another runner at Exeter that has yet to show to full advantage over jumps is Josh's Dreamway in the handicap hurdle at 15:00. She has had the required three runs for a mark, all on much softer ground than she'll meet this afternoon. Her bumper form bears close scrutiny and makes her look on a very attractive initial mark.
