All eyes on Monmore tonight
"Andlyns Bosta gets the nap treatment in Monmore’s S1 at 21:32. Kim Billingham’s charge has beaten most of his rivals in recent weeks and can again run down the opposition off the final bend."
Two nights of greyhound racing await on RPTV and Darrell Williams picks the best bets from each...
Monmore, after dipping a toe in the Racing Post Greyhound TV water with an excellent Puppy Derby final card a few weeks back, makes its regular bow alongside Hove tonight. Unfortunately for Open race connoisseurs it's an all-graded platform from both venues, but Romford more than makes up for that on Friday with three stunning Golden sprint semi-finals.
Ante-post favourite, in what remains a wide open affair is Blonde Snapper, and having avoided the 'big players' he looks worth an ante post play [6.4] as well as being a solid bet in the first semi-final at 20:34. Mark Wallis' high-class Classic winner has a 'comfortable' draw outside rails favouring Droopys Bach, while danger Fancy Socks may not clear Yahoo Ned from trap three. I make him the best bet of the round.
Solving the second semi at 20:50 is far less simple. Swabys Tony has the draw outside five railers, with Daughter Of Peg sure to give him plenty of room, but I'm still not convinced he'll win. The vote goes to Diamond Cnoc, who should appreciate trap one, with my view partly based on the fact that Slick Citi is unlikely to break as well as he did last week on his comeback - bounce factor etc!
The inside route in the third semi (21:06) looks highly treacherous with win machine Slick Sian likely to face tough competition for supremacy inside the flying Drumcove Lad, with the not so small matter of Lil Risky in trap three. I'll leave them to sort out that particular battle by siding with Farloe Ashes, who looks well housed in trap six. A small lay of Mountjoy Osprey can pay for the bet.
Sticking at Romford, Bush Standard, drawn outside railer Colorful Marco, can claim the Maiden final at 21:24, while Rockchase Jack also looks potentially 'plotted up' in the 22:26. Bridge Jane can also send punters home happy by making all in the 575m finale at 22:40.
Tonight, Andlyns Bosta gets the nap treatment in Monmore's S1 at 21:32. Kim Billingham's charge has beaten most of his rivals in recent weeks and can again run down the opposition off the final bend.
It was only a matter of time before Kersal Mollie produced a big run, having dropped three grades in a month, and can claim the A10 Owners Bonus Final (21:15) on the back of her fastest heat win. Canyon Rock, despite an uncertain middle draw, rates the selection in the A3 final at 21:48.
Elsewhere, improving All Honesty can make most in an A6 contest at 20:42, while upgraded Tyrur Tiger is ripe for a lay alongside two equally in-form rivals in the 20:10.
At Hove, veteran Carden Bert may have been overlooked in a D1 contest at 21:56, while Karma Kieren could also offer a spot of value in similar company at 20:18. I also take progressive Rackethall Ruso to continue his progress in the 22:11.
