Follow The Money: Rocky can sock it to 'em at Plumpton

"With the money down, it looks like a big run can be expected from Rocky Elsom."

Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Wolverhampton and Plumpton.

We start at Wolverhampton in the 15:50 where Archie Stevens has seen steady support, going from 4.57/2 in to 3.185/40. Tom Dascombe's runner has been showing good progression the last few months, winning three of his last five starts. The penalty for his last start victory will obviously make it more difficult today, but with the runner-up from that race winning yesterday the form looks solid. With conditions looking to suit him today, he seems to have every chance to add to his winning tally this afternoon.

Moving to Plumpton for the 16:00, Rocky Elsom has been strongly supported all morning, coming in to 6.611/2 from 13.4n/a. He had some decent form when running on the flat for John Oxx in Ireland, though has so far failed carry that over to the jumping game. He is entitled to improve today however, as his return at Sandown last start was on very heavy ground which didn't suit. He's also being tongue-tied today, so with the money down, it looks like a big run can be expected.

Finally, we head back to Wolverhampton for the 17:20 where Putin has been on the drift, going from 1.910/11 out to 2.829/5. He ended a long losing run yesterday with victory at Lingfield, and returns only 3lb higher here. The obvious worry for punters is his appalling strike rate, with only four career wins from 64 starts. With that in mind he can never be backed with much confidence, so it might be wise to look for better horses elsewhere to invest your money today.
