Uxizandre: no one can say it and it appears that no one wants to back it. The Alan King-trained runner in Warwick's 15:00 reappears after a disappointing last outing at Kempton and takes on some unexposed, potentially decent opponents. Matched at an early 2.568/5, the morning slide has been relentless and the unpronounceable one is now 3.412/5. He seems worth taking on even at that price.
Vibes are positive for the Venetia Williams' trained Massena in the 15:30 at Warwick. This lightly-raced six-year-old travelled strongly on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown last month, and is interesting bearing in mind the move from 6.05/1 to 4.57/2. With not much to beat he should give us a decent run for our money.
The three mile, five furlong chase (16:00) on soft ground at Warwick today is not going to be pretty or speedy; but it could well turn out to be lucrative. The runner that catches our eye is Bally Sands at the foot of the handicap. He's a consistent sort who likes heavy ground and should have the stamina for a gruelling contest such as this. Crucially carrying less than 10 stone due to his 5lb claimer Ed Cookson, the selection has been punted in from 12.5n/a to a current 10.09/1. He's worth a nibble.
