Nicky Henderson's Sleepy has been backed like a sure thing

Nicky Henderson's Sleepy has been backed like a sure thing

"Sleepy had a number of entries this week, but have targeted this race and the market confidence suggest he is the one to beat."

Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Southwell and Wincanton.

We start in the 14.30 from Southwell where Ana Emarati has been drifting all morning from [2.18] out to [2.76]. Ed Dunlop's 3yo has shown improved form on the all-weather at Lingfield on his last two starts and the stable won a maiden here last week. The negatives today are whether he can show the same level of form on the Fibresand at Southwell, this track tends to require more stamina and this may not suit him as he seems to weaken in the final stages of his races.

Next we move on to the 15:50 at Wincanton where Sir Winston has been supported from [8.2] in to [6.4]. Victor Dartnall's runner has only won once in 16 starts, but he is a consistent type having finished in the frame on seven out of eight starts since his win last season. He does look fully exposed, but today's race doesn't look that strong, the stable are in good form with six winners from their last 16 runners returning 38% strike rate. It is hoped that first-time cheekpieces can bring some improvement today.

Our final mover also comes from Wincanton, in the 16:50 where the Nicky Henderson trained Sleepy has been well backed this morning from [5.0] in to [2.4]. He is making his racecourse debut today and the stable have a decent record in bumpers. Sleepy had a number of entries this week, but have targeted this race and the market confidence suggest he is the one to beat.
