Atletico CP travel to Naval tonight for a clash in Portugal's Liga de Honra. The home side are odds-on but with just one win in six on their own turf, Paul Robinson thinks that they are worth laying at the prices.
It wasn't looking great at half time but England and Holland delivered the goals in the second period to take us to three out of three and one step closer to the perfect week.
Naval are currently fourth in the table with 32 points from 20 matches played. After suffering relegation from the top flight last season, manager Daniel Ramos is doing quite well in his task of bouncing straight back as they are just a single point off the promotion places. They have been drawing too many games in recent weeks though; five in their last eight, and while they are undefeated in that period, I have reservations about them getting the job done this evening. At home their form is even worse as they have just the one victory in the last half dozen and that was against the bottom side in the division back in January.
Atletico CP are also new to this league but they entered from the other direction, after winning promotion from the second division last year. Joao de Deus' men have continued that fine form this campaign and they find themselves just one place and two points behind tonight's opponents. After a run of four without a win, Atletico got a much-needed victory last time out at home to Arouca and that should hopefully restore their confidence after the small blip. On the road, they have lost three of the last four, but they have faced some tough games in that period, notably Estoril and Desportivo Aves, who are the top two sides in the league. Striker Tiago Caeiro has six goals in 17 so far and I fancy him to score again tonight, which would mean Naval have to score at least two to win, something which they've only managed to do twice twice at home season.
Naval are worthy favourites for this one, but the odds should be a lot closer in my opinion. [1.88] is just far too short about a home victory and for that reason, I have to make Naval my lay of the day.
