Will you follow the money at Southwell?
"With today`s extra furlong likely to suit, Firebeam must be very hard to beat."
Today's Follow the Money comes from the cards at Southwell and Epsom...
In the opening 14:10 maiden contest at Southwell, Firebeam has been backed as if defeat is out of the question, coming in from an early [2.3] to [1.49]. William Haggas' three-year-old gelding makes his second racecourse appearance today following a highly promising debut at Doncaster when chasing home a decent sort with a proven level of form. With today`s extra furlong likely to suit, Firebeam must be very hard to beat.
At Epsom, Sunny Game has been well backed in the 14:35 race, moving in from [8.2] to [5.4]. Successful under today`s pilot Jamie Spencer a year ago in a Warwick maiden, this one continued to run well in handicap company, winding up last season with a close fifth in a competitive Doncaster contest. The early money today suggests he will be ready to run a big race in what is his seasonal reappearance.
Our final mover is also at Epsom and a negative in the 15.10 Derby Trial. Borug has drifted out to [3.95] from [2.64]. Officially top rated of today`s five runners, Saeed Bin Suroor's inmate has been in action over in Meydan of late with a couple of respectable efforts. Those runs don`t however suggest he's improving much and layers seem happy to take him on with a couple of his less exposed rivals.
