Frankie Dettori: bidding to continue a good record at Beverley this evening

Frankie Dettori: bidding to continue a good record at Beverley this evening

"This will be only Solicitor’s eighth start and there must be a chance he’ll have more to offer in 2011 if he’s sound.."

Three selections for Wednesday's racing from the Timeform Free Form Website.

It has paid to follow Ferdy Murphy at the summer meetings at Sedgefield over the years and Elzahann (16.00) looks a live chance for the Leyburn trainer in the fourth race on the card there today. Elzahann has been in good form over hurdles since scoring in a course and distance handicap chase in March, not beaten far by the progressive Trendelenburg at Perth last month. She's back down in grade on her return to the larger obstacles and seems sure to go well with conditions ideal.

Irish trainer Gordon Elliott is usually associated with his successful raids to Perth, the aforementioned Trendelenburg just one of his many winners there this spring, but his record at Sedgefield makes for pretty good reading also with four of his last ten runners at the track victorious. He sends five over today and his best chance could come in the shape of Saddle My Dream (17.00) in the novices' handicap chase. Saddle My Dream is a winning pointer who has been allotted a modest mark on his handicap chase debut and looks the type his trainer could enjoy plenty of success with. He's well worth chancing first time up.

It is notable that connections have kept faith with Solicitor (19.00) as a four-year-old and he could be set to make a winning reappearance in the mile and a quarter handicap at Beverley this evening. He reportedly finished lame when last seen tailed off at Glorious Goodwood, but had romped home over this course and distance ten days earlier. This will be only Solicitor's eighth start and there must be a chance he'll have more to offer in 2011 if he's sound. Solicitor is the first of two rides for Frankie Dettori at Beverley for Mark Johnston and Sheikh Mohammed, and he'll be hoping to pick up where he left off last year at the East Yorkshire track, as, having not ridden at the course for five seasons, he partnered four winners from five rides in the early stages of the campaign, including a double for Johnston at this fixture.

Recommendations

Back Elzahann @ [3.2] Sedgefield 16.00
Back Saddle My Dream @ [2.28] Sedgefield 17.00
Back Solicitor @ [4.2] Beverley 19.00
