Terry's believes Divine Call can win at Ayr
"Divine Call relishes the soft ground that is on offer at the Scottish venue."
Terry Norman turns his attention north of the border for a promising Tuesday afternoon runner...
William Haggas doesn't make many trips up to Ayr - one win from five runners in the last two years - but he has sent Divine Call on the long journey from Newmarket for the 15:50.
It seems an inspired decision. Divine Call, related to smart miler Penitent, relishes the soft ground that is on offer at the Scottish venue.
Additionally, the lightly-raced son of Pivotal (this is only his fifth start) has been gelded over the winter and starts life from a tempting mark of 78. Haggas has also convinced Kieren Fallon to make the trip North.
Undoubtedly, Divine Call is the least exposed horse in this competitive heat. Northern Fling showed a glimmer of form at Thirsk, while the Nicholls pair, Academy Blues and Cara Request, has to be respected.
Haggas, however, has spurned numerous opportunities in the past week, waiting for soft ground. His prayers have been answered and Divine Call can take full advantage.
