008 Follow the Money

"Our final selection comes from York and there has been a move for Hoof It in the 15:40 who has been backed from [6.8] in to [5.8]. The race is very competitive, but Michael Easterby’s sprinter looks to still be improving."

Two backs and one lay based on price movements can only mean one thing: Saturday's Follow The Money column is here for your perusal.

Today's Follow the Money comes from Ascot, Newmarket and York.

We start at Newmarket and in the 13:45 where Burano has been well supported from [2.72] in to [2.28]. Brian Meehan's 2-year old colt made a promising debut, finishing runner up over course and distance last month and a repeat of that effort will give him a good chance. There are a number of newcomers from the leading stables, but this stable's juveniles usually improve from their first run and he he looks the one to beat.

Next we move to Ascot and in the 14:05 Pearl Charm has been drifting all morning from [1.92] out to [2.92]. The Richard Hannon trained 2 year-old made an impressive winning debut at Doncaster last month and he looks a useful prospect. Punters must feel today's softer ground and step up in class are good enough reasons to take him on at short prices.

Our final selection comes from York and there has been a move for Hoof It in the 15:40 who has been backed from [6.8] in to [5.8]. The race is very competitive, but Michael Easterby's sprinter looks to still be improving. A winner over course and distance on his first run of the year, he was sent off favourite for the Workingham at Royal Ascot, but didn't quite see the race out. Today's drop back in class and the return to an easier six furlongs should see him go well and he looks capable of winning another big handicap.
