"Fire Lily has been crying out for this extra furlong, winding up late and strongest of all at the finish when beaten around two lengths by Best Terms at Royal Ascot".
Two selections on the Flat at the Curragh and one over the jumps at Tipperary...
Fire Lily (14.40) has looked a smart prospect ever since she landed a Navan maiden on her debut in April and the Queen Mary fourth has been crying out for this extra furlong, winding up late and strongest of all at the finish when beaten around two lengths by Best Terms at Royal Ascot. David Wachman's filly is expected to regain the winning thread in this Group 3 with conditions looking just about ideal and looks too big at [2.85].
Cootamundra (16.10) may not have the greatest strike rate over hurdles, but he ran as well as ever when runner-up to Regal Ambition in a handicap at Roscommon over this trip last time and that form sets the standard in the minor event over 3m. Both Catcherinscratcher and Bingo Lady had the run of things from the front when winning last time out, whilst Chasing Cars has plenty to prove returned to hurdling. With that in mind, Cootamundra looks a solid each-way bet at [6.0].
Foot Perfect (17.50) is admittedly another that probably hasn't won the races one of her ability should have, but she's bettered the form of her maiden win when in the frame in handicaps on each of her last three starts, again meeting trouble when third to Red Army Blues at Bellewstown on her latest outing. David Marnane's filly should get the run of things here, with plenty of pacesetters in the line up, and is worth siding with at [6.5].
