Over to you, Tom Queally

"Chachamaidee has massive latent ability but is tricky and it’s fair to say that she is better over seven furlongs (she ran well against Sahpresa over a mile in the Sun Chariot) if Queally times her run right."

Terry Norman makes the picks on a very busy day of very good racing, starting with the opener at Newmarket

Part of Tom Queally's criteria today in the 14:05 at Newmarket will be to count to ten and then count another two before launching a challenge on Chachamaidee in this Group 2 event.

Henry Cecil's filly has massive latent ability but is tricky and it's fair to say that she is better over seven furlongs (she ran well against Sahpresa over a mile in the Sun Chariot) if Queally times her run right.

Queally didn't when hitting the front too soon at Doncaster. Having travelled beautifully, the daughter of Footstepsinthesand was run out of it by Alanza. She is a genuine Group 2 filly and she has two main assets in this race.

There is a natural pace angle in Lechevalier Choisi and, importantly, she receives 4lbs from the penalised Strong Suit, who represents champion-elect Richard Hannon.

Strong Suit was given a superb ride by Richard Hughes when landing the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood and seven furlongs is his trip, but the concession of a penalty in a Group race has been shown to be a difficult task for even Group one horses.

Winning a mile maiden after trading at [25.0] in-running and struggling for the majority of the race, is unlikely to have too many clamouring to back Sadeek's Song off a rating of 90 in the 14:50 at York.

There was, however, plenty to like. Eventually, having been ten lengths behind turning in, Mahmood Al Zarooni's impeccably-bred colt drew clear to win by five lengths.

The step up in trip is a massive help, this will be only Sadeek's Song's third run and he is a three-year-old that could find another 10lbs from his last run.

Electra Star sets a decent form standard but she has had a long year, Weapon of Choice will appreciate some rain and looks handicapped to the hilt, but I'm expecting Sadeek's Song to make another step up.
