Get Me Out of Here won at Fairyhouse under AP McCoy.
"AP knows him really well and he might go to Punchestown..."
Get Me Out Of Here finally landed the decent prize his consistent efforts have deserved when winning the Grade Two Keelings Irish Strawberry Hurdle at Fairyhouse...
The eight-year-old began what could be a big week for the triumvirate of Jonjo O'Neill, owner JP McManus and Tony McCoy in fine style.
Having finished runner-up at the last three Cheltenham Festivals and also in this season's Betfair Hurdle, nobody will begrudge Get Me Out Of Here an overdue victory.
Dropped out early under a confident McCoy, who rode a double at the track on Sunday, he made up ground effortlessly.
With favourite Oscars Well disappointing again, it was long-time leader Tofino Bay who led into the straight but he had no answer to the winner who went three and three-quarter lengths clear. Oilily ran on for third.
McCoy said: "I'm glad for the horse - he deserved it. He's been running consistently well in all those big handicaps. The conditions of this race suited him."
O'Neill added: "He's a great horse really and it's lovely to see him win a race like that after all those seconds.
"AP knows him really well and he might go to Punchestown. I think he'll get three miles."
