"Gold Bullet caught the eye with how he travelled approaching the straight and how he stuck on under pressure in the closing stages..."
The Cheltenham Festival may be over, but the racing wheel keeps turning and the Irish team have found three win selections for this afternoon...
Indubitably shaped with plenty of encouragement on his first start for his new yard when second to Western Man at Fairyhouse last time, keeping on well having had plenty to do three out. He pulled nicely clear of the third on the run-in that day and, given he races off the same mark this afternoon, he looks worth supporting to go one better in what looks an ordinary event.
Treacle was a bit of a revelation last term, winning a handicap at Gowran prior to running a fine third in the Irish Hennessy at Leopardstown. He subsequently failed to complete in the Grand National in April and shaped as if in need of his reappearance over an inadequate trip at Thurles last month. The step back up in trip is sure to suit and, given he should strip a lot fitter for his return, he looks worth chancing to get the better of Chicago Grey in receipt of a handy 10 lb.
Gold Bullet showed fairly useful form in bumpers and shaped with plenty of encouragement when chasing home the strongly-supported Mullaghanoe River in a maiden at Navan on his hurdling bow last time. The winner won comfortably that day, but Gold Bullet caught the eye with how he travelled approaching the straight and how he stuck on under pressure in the closing stages. This afternoon's race is by no means a penalty kick, but he is unlikely to meet anything of that calibre and he is entitled to progress.
